Rosie Falcon Tria

June 19, 1932 - October 12, 2023

In Memoriam

Rosie Falcon Tria passed away on October 12, 2023 at the age of 91 in Sacramento, California. Born Rosie Falcon in the Philippines on June 19, 1932 to Vicente and Florentina Falcon, the second of nine children. She married Honesto Tria in 1958.

In 1978, Rosie and her daughters moved to San Francisco, where Honesto had been living since 1972. Honesto and Rosie were inseparable since that time. They traveled together and participated in social activities together.

Rosie received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Shortly after moving to San Francisco, she established her business setting up accounting systems for small businesses and worked until fully retiring in 2013.

Her parents instilled in her the philosophy of hard work and service to others. Rosie believed in skills-training and education as a means of improving one's life and helped many in this area. She provided advice as well as seed money for starting small businesses. People did not hesitate to ask her for help, financial or otherwise.

In 1985, Rosie and Honesto co-founded Save A Tahanan in San Francisco with other sons and daughters of Calabanga. They worked tirelessly for the success of Save A Tahanan, Inc. They also volunteered with various organizations like ABS-CBN Foundation, Calabanga Association of America, and the Filipino Group at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. An avid gardener, Rosie was a long-time member of the Sister Ancilla Garden Club at the motherhouse of the Mission San Jose Dominicans.

Rosie is survived by her daughters Roselli, Hazel, and Florian; sons-in-law Craig Smith and Joseph Broadhead; grandsons Jacob Smith, Kevin Smith, and Jordan Broadhead; and sisters Bonifacia, Fe and Nenita. Honesto, her husband of 58 years, pre-deceased her by seven years.
